SOUTH ASIA FOUNDATION

The Student Support Services (SSS)  provides support to the university's students  for academic development, assists students with basic study requirements, like providing self instructional study material, assignments, etc. Services provided by SSS includes: instruction in basic study skills, tutorial services, academic, financial, or personal counseling, information about career options, mentoring.

SOUTH ASIA FOUNDATION

            Shri Madanjeet Singh, Goodwill Ambassador, UNESCO established South Asia Foundation (SAF) in the year 2000. SAF is a voluntary, non-profit, non-political and secular youth movement to benefit disadvantaged South Asian communities. It promotes regional cooperation between Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, through educational programs and person to person cultural and economic interaction.

             SAF has offered SAF scholarship to the students of PG courses and Diploma in Vocational courses through Distance and Open Learning. 10,000 scholarship have been offered to South Asian Countries out of which 500 scholarship have been offered to the students of M.P.Bhoj Open University. The scholarship is meant for the students of PG degree and diploma of vocational courses (except MBA and B.Ed.) with family income not exceeding 1,20,000/-pa, age not exceeding 30 years. The student is required to become a member of SAF online.

             74 students of  M.P.Bhoj Open University have been awarded SAF scholarship this year. These students have been given a book ‘The SASIA Story’ authored by Sri Madanjeet Singh free of cost provided by SAF.SASIA is the name Sri Madanjeet Singh coined for South Asia,s common currency in the hope that, like the Euro, it will become the anchor of economic stability and regional cooperation.

 

            Minimum requirements for applying for SAF-

            1.      Age should not exceed 30 years.

 2.      Family income should not exceed 1,20,000/-

3.      Should be a student of MPBOU in PG degree courses or diploma in vocational courses (MBA & B.Ed. not included)   

4.      If belong to SC, ST, OBC Certificate should be attached.

5.      Should become online member on SAF website (www.southasiafoundation.org)
