DEPARTMENT OF MULTIMEDIA EDUCATION (DME)

 The main functions of the DME are to undertake academic activities pertaining to three major areas:

  • The various aspects of the practice of education as a profession;
  • The various branches of education as an academic discipline;
  • Development of multimedia support for education and training Programmes

COURSE: -

The academic Programmes being offered by the DME are:

  • Master Degree in Education through Distance Mode (M.Ed.)
  • Bachelor of Education through Distance Mode (B.Ed. )
  • Diploma in Education Elementary Teachers Training Programme (D.Ed.)
  • Master in Arts in Education M.A.(Education)
  • Provision for Ph.D. level research in Education

Future Plans

The DME Plans to conduct

  • Inter-disciplinary Research and Training Programme for promoting research and development in Education.
  • PGD in Educational Technology.
  • PG Diploma in Guidance and Counseling.

OBJECTIVES: -

The Education Programme offered by the university aims to provide required appropriate knowledge, undertaking skills and develop a 'role-perception' to enable the recipients of training to play the role of a teacher effectively and efficiently as an agent of the change in the coming 21st century.

The basic objectives of the Programme is to channel of the admission to the in service untrained teachers in the state. The Programme aims to achieve the following specific objectives:

  • To develop and strengthen the professional competency of the in Service teachers;
  • To impart knowledge and undertaking of various methods and practices needed for organizing learning experiences to in -service teachers;
  • To develop skills involved in selecting, developing and organizing instructional and evaluation techniques;
  • To provide knowledge and understanding about school management.
  • to develop competencies for organizing various co-curricular and other support activities needed in educational Institutions.
  • To develop the role perception of a teacher in the emerging socio - cultural, political and environmental context in general and the educational system in particular thereby, inculcating personality traits, appreciation and understanding among the trainees as an agent of change.
